Say hello to my little (Vitrina vegetarian burger) friend

We waited, and even managed to get ourselves a tad confused, but this time the alarm was real...

Last week, Vitrina Lili introduced a brand spankin' new and delicious vegetarian burger – a younger brother to the slightly older Portobello mushroom burger. The newest offering to the Nahalat Binyamin location contains red quinoa, lentils, Portobello mushrooms, wheat and groats with a dominant, yet not overpowering, mushroom flavor and a crunchy nut finish.

The fact that all the beans are cooked together produces a very strange, yet oddly fun texture in the mouth, as your tongue plays a guessing game between crispy and soft. The veggie burger is topped with a generous helping of melted gouda cheese and served up in an airy bun slathered with thousand island dressing, a zesty honey mustard sauce, grilled cherry tomatoes, lettuce, and pickles (NIS 40 for a veggie burger, NIS 57 for a meal that includes their famous matchstick half sweet potato, half regular potato fries, and a drink).

The only fault (and there is a large one) is that this veggie-lover's burger is only available at Vitrina Lili and not their flagship restaurant on Ibn Gvirol.
