Venture two and a half hours north of Tel Aviv to Galilion Hotel just near the Hula Valley, and you'll find a getaway resort stretching out over 22 acres.

The complex boasts a luxury spa, the largest conference and convention center in the north of Israel, a spacious pool and even a hot-air balloon trip that overlooks the Naftali Mountains, Hula Valley and Mount Hermon.

Breakfast at Hotel Galilion includes a lavish farm-to-table buffet: a tasting trip through the Galilee with a huge selection of local cheeses, artisanal breads baked in-house, locally grown vegetables, platters of smoked fish, a large selection of salads - it's a veritable feast to wake up to.  The dinner menu revolves daily, including gluten-free and vegan selections, and a dreamy, colorful detail-oriented dessert selection, which comes in individual servings so that you can try many different varieties.

After a relaxing stay at Hotel Galilion, take a 25-minute detour way up into the mountains to Dalton Industrial Park for a visit to an array of shops like Pitputim, a 100% spelt bakery where people can sample cookies, crackers, vegan pretzels and pastries all made from spelt and 8 types of spelt sourdough. The owner, Keren Ziv Rabovsky, also has a little shop and café in Rosh Pina, also 10 minutes from the Galilion Hotel.

Step in to Dalton Winery (Dalton Industrial Park, Merom Hagalil) to watch the production process, go on a guided tour and taste your way through the wines, or stop in the shop to pick up some wine to take home along with all the other delectable treats from the Upper Galilee.

Other attractions include Adir Winery, a place to learn about wines and taste goat cheeses from the area, as well as Rimon Winery, where all the wines are made of high-quality pomegranates with no added sugar. Take a tour and learn about the health benefits of the fruit, sample their pomegranate cosmetic line, and most of all - take a wine tasting tour, where you can also try all their home-made chocolates including pomegranate-filled pralines.

On the way back, stop at  Kibbutz Sasa to try Buza (04-691-8880), an ice-cream shop that formed from the friendship between a Jew, Adam Ziv, and a Muslim, Alaa Sawitat, a sweet story in every sense of the word. Call in advance to sign up for a tour or the ice cream tasting workshops for all ages. They have special workshops during the summer vacation for kids, starting from age three.
