Barr Zutra's T-shirts are a gem of happiness for all addicted to simple T-shirts with quirky illustrations. Moreover, her beautiful designs also come in postcards. We are already obsessed
The elderly with the inscription of sexy on their shirts, children with Ramones T-shirts and more - it seems that almost no one today cares what is written on their shirt as long as there are a few letters. Lucky for us, multihyphenate artist and designer Barr Zutra began printing her illustrations on T-shirts so we can all enjoy a more interesting existence.
Zutra, who completed her studies in visual communication at Bezalel a year ago, draws everything from animals and plants to objects in a way that makes them look fun even if it's just a simple chair. She prints them all on T-shirts in very small editions, which she says allows her paintings to "cool off." The shirts, which cost between NIS 80 and NIS 100, can now be ordered through Zutra's Instagram account: @barrzut or at Lev Studio on 3 Simtat Beit Habad Street, Tel Aviv. Anyone who doesn't connect to the textile can also get them as prints.
"The handwriting and the personal style that comes from it are very important to me," says Zutra. "I create all of my paintings manually, in addition to original works. I have a great fascination with printing in all kinds of techniques. For me, the T-shirts are a perfect platform for my paintings, because it's just fun to see friends and strangers who connect to the images and choose to walk down the street with them. At the moment there is a fairly small selection, and I intend for the collection to remain relatively limited - every few months to prepare a T-shirt with an image that I would like to see around me.
