Special places often present the ultimate conflict: to share the coveted info because it is just too good not to, or to keep it to oneself, protecting the bubble of magic?

We dare you to discover Yoko Kitahara and refrain from shouting it from the rooftops. In fact, you can even shout it from their rooftop – perched high above Old Jaffa’s ancient quarters, overlooking the glittering Mediterranean – straight into the fresh, crisp air. That is, if you are not too zenned out from the whole experience – barely able to muster an audible sound outside of yourself.

The Ottoman-era abode has been transformed into a Japanese-inspired haven with Scandinavian touches. Unlike other spa and wellness centers, Yoko Kitahara prides itself on being a place that actually restores your energy and balance. From walking up the steps just outside of Kedumim Square and into the marble floored, minimalist yet vast space, the senses are instantly set to ‘chill mode.’

A eucalyptus infused foot bath to start, a gander at the artisanal and hand-picked bathing essentials, padded slippers, and imported Japanese teas like black sesame and soba are all elegantly displayed. Yoko’s steadfast goal for clients? Seeking the precise way of reconnecting to nature by awaking the five senses and tapping into personal energies, while aiming for the “feeling rather than thinking” moments.
