After a year and a half of waiting and drilling, it is almost possible to take a fresh breath of relief. The renovation of Dizengoff Square is almost complete, the traffic around the square is back to normal, and there is also a new bicycle trail!

The traffic flow of Tzina Dizengoff Square in Tel Aviv was renewed this week after a year and a half of constructions that disturbed the peace of the environment due to a delay in the deadline. The residents suffered, the businesses suffered and the pedestrians had to walk around bulldozers. According to the Tel Aviv-Jaffa municipality, "the opening of the core of the square is made possible in an almost complete format with specific closures, while at the same time the work to be finished is carried out mainly in the fountain pool." Those who live near the square will probably be able to sleep better at night, but the work has not ended completely.

The famous fountain in the heart of the square, by the artist Yaacov Agam was restored despite the predictions (and the prayers from some Tel Avivians). "At this point, the colors of the triangles of the statue are waiting for the artist's approval and then they will be sent to be repainted," the municipality says.

The traffic plan in the square is identical to the one that existed prior to the renovation, and is managed by traffic lights, in order to integrate a new two-lane bicycle path and pedestrian crossings, including those that want to reach the center of the square.
