The case for self-care is no better made than in Tel Aviv. Hot, sticky weather, impatient drivers, noisy streets, and uncurbed dog droppings can drive a person mad. Instead of dwelling on the negative stuff, we've rounded up some of the best treatments, foods, clothing, and lifestyle changes that help you be your best self and stay in the light.

The best Israeli wellness establishments and all-natural goodies

One of the earlier players in the wellness scene in Tel Aviv, Urban Shaman is a central spot for a cold-pressed juice cleanse and for dip in the healing waters of yoga and meditation at Teepee. The studio is just downstairs from Urban Shaman’s outpost, hosting wellness experts and one of the only places in Tel Aviv with an infrared sauna should you care to sweat out some extra toxins.

Chlorella, lions mane, astragalus and ashwaghanda….what? Focused on elevating the body to wholebeing, Karma TLV creates superfood treats and blends of adaptogens (added to smoothies or similar) to help the body process stress or to manage a new environment. The plant sourced blends are full of medicinal properties that, when added to a naturally sweet smoothie, are at least worth a shot.

Learn self care by doing yoga is just the beginning of the self-care at Shraddha Yoga. The studio, tucked in a quiet street in Neve Tzedek, hosts workshops ranging from aromatherapy to raw vegan desserts that allow participants to learn and create their own goods. The sessions are led by experts in their fields and are great events to meet people with similar interests.

Upcycling is not just taking a stray chair on a street corner and turning it into a plant stand, it’s creating a new garment from an entirely old set of fabrics. That is the speciality of Repelle by Naomi Maaravi. Stop in the flagship of the eco-fashion line to witness pieces coming together and chat with the designer about her process.
