Time Out says

Escape to the desert for a weekend of introspection, friendship, expression, music, and dance

Touching the hearts of many for seven years now, open-minds will gather to experience and celebrate the awe-inspiring beauty of Sufi culture, (also defined as Islamic mysticism or the inward dimension of Islam). Created to appreciate and share Sufi art and wisdom passed down for thousands of years, the festival creatively combines wild, colorful music festival, with intellectual, thought-provoking activities. Leading mentors will host discussions and classes in six workshop spaces, exploring Sufi poetry, Sufi dance, spirituality, and many other intriguing elements of Sufi tradition. Meanwhile, more than 15 live world music performances will take place on two stages, every two hours from Thursday afternoon to Saturday evening, playing authentic music from Iran, Africa, India, and more, including a 30-piece orchestra playing ancient Turkish music. Trek to the desert into a “space where music, dance and silence become a language,” for an empowering communal experience, celebration of remarkable culture, and inspiring spiritual journey.
