Surfing 4 Peace is a cross-border cooperation initiative whose mission is to bridge cultural and political barriers between surfers in the Middle East. Since 2004 this inspiring collective has facilitated numerous surfing-related projects and events to further propel coexistence and peace in this tumultuous region. For example, upon learning that a small but passionate group of surfers in Gaza were all forced to share a single surf board, the Surfing 4 Peace crew gathered 14 used boards donated by Israeli surf companies and gifted them to the Palestinians. Since then, the group has set up a Gaza Surf Relief project that has managed to provide every surfer in Gaza with their own surf board.
