Folk-soul singer and songwriter Ayo has been compared to the likes of Erykah Badu and Sade, which means you can expect something smart and smooth in equal measure. Ayo is the Yoruba translation of the artist's given first name, Joy. The artist was born in Germany to a Nigerian father and a Romani mother. She moved to Manhattan and then to Paris, where she now lives, and all of these international influences are present in her style. She's also a kind-hearted soul, being appointed by UNICEF as their global ambasador representing the right of children to education worldwide. With magnificent vocals, Ayo plays soul, reggae, and Afrobeat music and released her ‘Ticket To The World’ album in 2013. The concert at Is Sanat was originally set to take place on Saturday May 10th but was postponed to the 20th; if you bought tickets for the 10th they will be valid.
