Johannesburg’s luxury landscape is getting a major shake-up this week as The Maison Martell officially opens its doors at Montecasino. Running every weekend from 12 to 28 March, this immersive "cultural residence" is set to be the city’s premier destination for those who appreciate the intersection of heritage spirits, avant-garde fashion, and top-tier African gastronomy.

Transforming the Montecasino Outdoor Event Area into a sophisticated hub of craftsmanship, the residency offers Joburgers a rare chance to dive into the 300-year history of the oldest of the great cognac houses.

A multi-sensory weekend experience

The experience is designed as a curated walk-through, featuring guided tastings of Martell’s most celebrated expressions, including the Blue Swift and the prestigious XO. But the liquid gold is only the beginning.

The musical lineup for the opening weekend sets a high bar for the rest of the month:

  • Thursday, March 12: Afro-house maestro DJ Darque kicks things off.
  • Friday, March 13: The "Private School" Amapiano sounds of DJ Stokie.
  • Saturday, March 14: High-energy vibes from Dlala Thukzin.
  • Sunday, March 15: A soulful, elegant finale with the rich vocals of Langa Mavuso.

Culinary artistry and global fashion

Feeding the soul (and the palate) is Chef Coco Reinarhz. Known for his work at Epicure at One, the Michelin-trained visionary has crafted a menu that bridges the gap between classical French tradition and contemporary African haute cuisine.

On the style front, the Maison has partnered with Bantu Gold. Fresh from the runways of New York and Dubai Fashion Weeks, the global fashion house has designed an exclusive, limited-edition Bantu Maison collection. Guests will be able to shop these elevated apparel and accessory pieces, which blend traditional heritage with progressive design, throughout the residency.

“The Maison is where these worlds meet,” says Tintswalo Baloyi of Pernod Ricard South Africa. “It is a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and the cultural economy.”

Whether you’re there for a deep dive into cognac craftsmanship or to catch some of the country’s biggest musical acts in a refined setting, The Maison Martell is the place to see and be seen in Fourways this March.
