Flying from Nairobi to Johannesburg is about to get a whole lot easier.

Airlink, the regional airline renowned for connecting African destinations with efficiency and ease, has announced major updates to its Nairobi-Johannesburg schedule, providing travellers with more convenience and improved connectivity.

Under the new schedule, travellers will soon be able to catch daily flights to the City of Gold, making it easier to plan business trips, access onward international connections, or simply enjoy the vibrant economic hub full of opportunities.

The new schedule will take effect early next year. From 29 March 2026, travellers from the East African region will be able to enjoy daily flights to O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg.

According to Airlink’s statement, “Airlink will introduce a daily early morning south-bound service from Nairobi to Johannesburg, ensuring travellers arrive at the start of the working day and also in time for the morning wave of onward connections from Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo International Airport.”

Airlink CEO, de Villiers Engelbrecht, added: “With our expanded fleet, we’re able to adjust our Nairobi schedule to better serve the needs of business and leisure customers who prioritise convenience and a great choice of connections at both ends of the route.

“Nairobi is a key gateway to Kenya and the all-important East African market. Similarly, through Airlink’s Johannesburg hub, customers can connect with our other domestic and regional services as well as long-haul flights provided by our global airline partners.”

As part of the updated service, Airlink’s Johannesburg (JNB) to Nairobi (NBO) flights will operate as follows, starting from 29 March 2026: Flight 4Z 071 will depart daily from Nairobi at 06:30 and arrive in Johannesburg at 09:40.

These adjustments are expected to enhance flexibility for both business and leisure travellers, providing smoother transfers and improved access to key destinations across Africa and beyond.
