The airline has confirmed that operations can now resume following an earlier announcement that Moshoeshoe I International Airport lacked serviceable fire and rescue equipment. This led the airline to temporarily suspend flights.
On Thursday afternoon, Airlink released a statement assuring consumers that flights will resume tomorrow morning, Friday, 7 November 2025. This follows “confirmation by the Lesotho authorities that suitable fire and rescue equipment has been sourced for Moshoeshoe I International Airport, which will enable it to once again accommodate airline flights.”

Are you planning to fly between Johannesburg and Maseru with Airlink? Unfortunately, the South African regional airline has temporarily suspended its Maseru–Johannesburg flights.
The suspension follows the discovery that Moshoeshoe I International Airport lacks serviceable fire and rescue equipment, a critical requirement under international civil aviation safety standards.
Airlink made the announcement on Wednesday, 5 November, stating:
“Airlink regrets to announce the suspension of its daily flights between Johannesburg and Maseru due to the lack of serviceable fire and rescue equipment at Moshoeshoe I International Airport.”
The airline added that services will resume once Moshoeshoe I International Airport is deemed fully compliant with safety regulations.
In the meantime, customers are advised to check the status of their flights with Airlink or their travel agents before travelling to the airport.
