Shoppers in and around Sandton are in for a treat. The retail scene has just expanded with the much-anticipated return of Sofacompany South Africa to Kramerville.
The authentic Danish global furniture brand, founded in Denmark in 2008, is bringing its signature designer furniture back to Joburg.
Sofacompany first entered the South African market in 2018 with a showroom in Cape Town before expanding to Johannesburg, Kramerville. Like many businesses, it faced closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. The store has reopened by popular demand.
Known for its timeless and modern collections, Sofacompany continues to offer exclusive pieces that blend quality with Danish craftsmanship.
Speaking to Time Out, Sofacompany’s retail manager, Eckhard Coetzee, highlighted that the brand's unique, clean, organic lines and naturalistic shapes set it apart.
“It’s Danish design. There is nothing quite like it available at any other shop.”
He added that Kramerville remains a strategic location for the store.
“Kramerville is the design hub, so it’s a crucial place to be. Sofacompany used to be in Kramerville, but we had to close when Covid happened. We have a lot of clients that side, so it was needed to have a showroom again.”
The store marked its return with a vibrant launch, sharing highlights on social media.
“The launch of our Sofacompany South Africa store in Kramerville was more than an opening — it was a celebration of design, creativity, and community,” the store shared on Facebook.
“From timeless Danish furniture to the incredible atmosphere created by our partners and guests, the energy was unforgettable.”
