The Fourways horizon is about to look a lot more sophisticated. Construction has officially kicked off on the View, a premium R100 million lifestyle destination situated at the high-traffic intersection of Cedar and Witkoppen Roads.

As part of a broader mission to reposition the Fourways Mall precinct, the View isn't just another shopping strip. It’s a carefully curated "unhurried" space designed to offer what the area has long craved: elevated dining, lush landscaping, and, as the name suggests, uninterrupted views across Joburg.

A "hotel lobby" vibe for retail

Forget the frantic energy of a standard mall. The architectural vision, led by MDS Architecture, centres on a three-level atrium that feels more like a sophisticated hotel lobby than a retail centre. Expect clean, contemporary lines, premium tactile materials, and a layout that prioritises light and flow.

The tenant hitlist

The real drawcard for locals will be the heavyweight lineup of destination brands, many of which are making their Fourways debut:

  • Tasha's: Natasha Sideris is finally bringing her iconic all-day dining experience to the precinct.
  • The Pantry: Opening in September 2026, this won’t just be a grocery store; it’s a full "gourmet experience" featuring a bespoke bakery, butchery, wine cellar, and ice cream parlour.
  • Fournos Bakery: Set to be one of the first to arrive, opening its doors on 1 May 2026.
  • Clay Café: Mid-2026 will see the arrival of this interactive favourite, blending creativity with social dining.
  • Nonna’s Italian Grill: Anchoring the lower floor for those looking for long, social lunches.
  • Wellness & Beauty: Mangwanani Spa is already trading (having relocated in late 2025), and will soon be joined by Popsicle Nails and The Piercery.

Convenience meets green design

The developers, Flanagan & Gerard and Accelerate Property Fund, have focused heavily on easy access. The centre will feature multiple entry points from major roads and a direct pedestrian link to Fourways Mall (right past the iStore).

To encourage those sunset drinks and long dinners, the View is introducing one hour of free parking during the day and free parking after 5 pm. In addition, a partnership with Johannesburg City Parks will see a major tree-planting initiative to turn the concrete corner into a lush, green precinct.

Time Out Tip: Keep an eye on the upper level. With its rare mountain views and "free parking after 5 pm" policy, this is set to become the North’s premier spot for post-padel drinks and sunset dinners.
