Create lasting memories by visiting one of Joburg's popular attractions, the Johannesburg Zoo

The zoo, which celebrated 121 hundred years of existence in March, is offering a unique bargain whereby you may visit the zoo on the 21st of every month for a mere R21 entrance fee.

" The #zoo121birthdaycelebration continues! On the 21st of each month, zoo entry is R21. Bring your family and friends to share in the joy and excitement. #Zoo121birthday #explorejoburg #joburgzoo," it wrote on Facebook.

The Johannesburg zoo has been a top attraction for those who stay in Gauteng or visit the popular city.

The normal entrance fee to the zoo is R126 for adults, R74 for children and R47 for differently abled people.

However, visitors can get to see the Big Five and other animals for just R21.

The special runs until 28 February 2026.

What makes the zoo a great place to visit is that you get to connect with the wildlife and can have a braai or picnic.

The zoo has 320 species of animals, totalling about 2 000 animals.

It also offers modern animal exhibits and educational centres.
