FlySafair passengers can breathe a sigh of relief, the recent pilot strike that disrupted travel plans across the country has officially come to an end. The airline confirmed that strike action by some of its pilots has ceased following a formal agreement reached between FlySafair management and the trade union Solidarity.
The resolution marks the end of a tense period for one of South Africa’s most reliable low-cost carriers, which has been operating on reduced capacity due to the industrial action.
In a statement, FlySafair said it will be restoring full capacity to the market over the next two weeks. Aircraft will be returning to active duty as the airline gradually ramps up its schedule. This phased return is designed to give crew and operational teams the necessary breathing room to realign flight rosters and ensure a smooth transition back to normal service.
While the full schedule may take a short while to stabilise, travellers are encouraged to visit the airline’s website to view updated flight times as they become available.
If you’ve got a flight booked, head to the 'Manage My Booking' portal at www.flysafair.co.za/manage to check your flight status, make changes, or get more information.
As one of the country’s most affordable and efficient domestic carriers, FlySafair plays a crucial role in connecting major cities, including Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, and beyond, and the resumption of full service will come as welcome news to both leisure and business travellers.
