Joburg food lovers, if you’ve been searching for a stylish spot to enjoy great cuisine in a stunning setting, look no further. Stages at Joburg Theatre is back, and it’s better than ever.

The much-loved restaurant has officially revealed the renovations it has been working on for the past few months. In July last year, Joburg Theatre announced that Stages would undergo a major revamp and temporarily relocate to the second floor of the theatre precinct. Now, the wait is finally over.

Taking to social media, the restaurant unveiled its brand-new look. Trust us when we say the transformation is nothing short of impressive. One of the standout features is the striking gold-bronze chandelier, which instantly elevates the space. The lights were designed by Bianca Suttner and Stephen Pikus Design, who offer handcrafted lighting made in South Africa, made from waste materials. Lush green plants add a natural touch, while the brown-and-gold décor, stylish furnishings, and plush seating create a warm yet luxurious atmosphere.

Guests can expect a mix of comfortable chairs, cosy sofas, and decorative screens throughout the restaurant, making it an inviting space whether you’re dining solo or gathering with friends and family.

What's also exciting is that the restaurant has also refreshed its menu to mark the reopening. From burgers to ribs and chicken, diners can look forward to a variety of crowd-pleasing options.

Whether you’re heading to catch a live performance at the theatre or simply planning a night out for a great meal, Stages offers the perfect stop. The recent makeover has already sparked excitement on social media, with many praising the transformation.

"This is just going to be my hangout spot 😂😂😂 I will not go inside the Theatre to watch shows, I'll just sit here and eat, cos what," wrote IG user Tebogo Artslave.

"Oh wow, this is beautiful," wrote House of Interiors.

The restaurant opens from 7 am and closes at 4 pm, unless there is a late show.
