If your "To-Eat" list is looking a little ambitious for your current bank balance, consider this your official green light. Restaurant Week South Africa is returning for its 2026 Autumn edition, running from 27 March to 3 May, and the Johannesburg lineup is looking particularly stacked.

For those new to the drill, Restaurant Week is the ultimate cheat code for the city's dining scene. Over 100 of the country’s top-tier spots, places that usually require a special occasion excuse, open their doors with exclusive, fixed-price menus that are significantly kinder to your wallet.

What’s on the Menu?

This year, the value is better than ever. You can snag two-course lunches starting from R195 and three-course dinners from R295.

While the full list of participants is live on the official portal, some of our local favourites are already confirmed:

  • For the High-Flyers: The 11th Floor in Bedfordview is offering a three-course gourmet feast for R600 (worth it for the view alone).
  • For Fine-Dining Flair:  Signs and Marble in Rosebank are expected to be the hottest tickets in town.
  • For the Rosebank Crowd: Keep an eye out for Proud Mary, MamaSamba, and The Prawnery, all staples of the Restaurant Week circuit.
  • For Modern Luxury: Tempo Luxury Restaurant and Eclipse are both bringing their A-game with multi-course indulgence.

The strategy: How to score a table

The "Week" is actually more of a month-long marathon, but don't let the dates fool you; the best spots vanish within hours.

  1. Book now: Reservations officially opened on 20 March. If you haven't secured a spot yet, head over to restaurantweek.co.za immediately.
  2. Filter by vibe: Use the portal to filter by neighbourhood (Sandton, Rosebank, and Midrand are the heavy hitters this year) or by cuisine.
  3. Check the surcharge: Some of the "star" restaurants (think Eat Out award winners) may have a small supplement fee on their menus, so keep an eye on the fine print while booking.

Why we’re excited

Joburg ranked among the best food cities in the world by our global editors in 2024, and events like this prove why. From the Italian flavours of The 11th Floor to the flame-grilled excellence of Marble, this is your chance to see why the world is finally paying attention to our local culinary scene.
