Johannesburg malls launch back-to-school deals

It’s almost back to school. With only a few days left before children in Johannesburg return to the classroom, the long lists of stationery, books, and school uniforms are driving parents into a frenzy.

With pockets running low and lengthy stationery lists from schools, back-to-school shopping can be an overwhelming exercise. However, several Johannesburg malls are stepping in to make it easier for parents.

These malls have launched back-to-school deals, offering some relief by allowing parents to complete their shopping conveniently in one place and save a few Rands.

Mall of Africa

Mall of Africa in Midrand has several stores running great back-to-school deals. Woolworths is offering a wide range of school uniform, while Typo stocks various stationery essentials. Other participating stores include Bargain Books, Mr Price, PNA, Checkers Hyper, and Exclusive Books.

The Zone is also running a back-to-school campaign, with great deals on school uniform at Hemers. Other stores catering to scholars include Game and PlayTech, where parents can purchase gadgets such as headphones and other school-related accessories.

Hyde Park Corner

Parents can shop for school uniform at McCullagh and Bothwell at Hyde Park Corner, while stationery essentials are available at PNA.

Cresta Shopping Centre 

Cresta Shopping Centre is choosing to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate by hosting a charity drive.

“Help a child start the school year with confidence by donating school supplies, uniforms, shoes or stationery at our Back-to-School Donation Drive. All proceeds go to WCSS, a local non-profit supporting crèches and early learning centres in our community,” the mall announced on its Facebook page.

Clearwater Mall

Clearwater Mall does not only have great stationery deals, but it is also running a convenient promotion where scholars can have their books wrapped while they shop. With book wrapping often being a nightmare for parents, this promotion comes as a relief.

The Boulders Shopping Centre

Affordable stationery is available at Pep Home at The Boulders Shopping Centre. The Midrand-based shopping centre also features several pop-up stores where shoppers can purchase books. Stores such as Ackermans, Mr Price, Jet, and Pick n Pay are also offering great back-to-school deals.
