Krispy Kreme teases sweet new collaboration with airline

We love food, and we love travel, and what could be more exciting than one of South Africa’s biggest sweet-treat brands partnering with an airline?

While it has not yet been officially confirmed whether Krispy Kreme South Africa will be collaborating with an airline, the doughnut brand recently took to social media to tease that something exciting may soon be taking off. 

In a post shared online, the brand hinted: "From the warm glow of a fresh Original Glazed® to the skies at 36 000 ft, something exciting is about to take off. Any guesses what we’re up to? ✈️".

The aeroplane emoji in their post had social media users guessing that the doughnut company could soon collaborate with one of SA's airlines.  

Many people in the comment section quickly speculated that it might be teaming up with the airline Lift.

Last month, the airline treated its passengers to delicious Krispy Kreme doughnuts for Valentine's Day.  

This has led some fans to wonder whether the latest tease could mean that Krispy Kreme doughnuts may soon become a regular in-flight snack rather than a once-off surprise. 

It would not be the first time the brand has taken its treats to the skies. Three years ago, Krispy Kreme partnered with Airlink, allowing passengers to enjoy the popular doughnuts as part of their travel experience. 

For now, the big question remains: could Lift be the next airline to serve Krispy Kreme? 

Currently, Lift already offers passengers a complimentary selection of snacks, Vida e Caffè coffee and beverages on its flights. Premium travellers also have access to additional options, including wines, spirits and other refreshments. 

If the speculation proves true, Krispy Kreme doughnuts could soon become another sweet highlight of the in-flight experience.

In other news, the doughnut company has launched fresh new cheesecake flavours. 

" For the first time ever, cheesecake has FINALLY arrived at your nearest Doughnuts On The Go location… and it’s dough-liciously indulgent!" it wrote on Facebook. 

The new flavours are: choc brownie cheesecake, New York cheesecake, and white choc blueberry cheesecake.
