LIV Golf partners with Gautrain and Park and Ride SA to ease transport to Steyn City

LIV Golf 2026 is officially a few hours away, and will be bringing together some of the world’s top golfers for one of the most anticipated tournaments on the global sporting calendar. Taking place from 19 to 22 March at Steyn City, the event is expected to attract more than 20,000 spectators.

With such a large turnout anticipated, significant traffic congestion is expected in surrounding areas, particularly between Fourways and Midrand.

The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) has issued a traffic advisory to ensure a smooth experience for both attendees and local residents.

No On-Site Parking

JMPD has confirmed that there will be no general public parking available at the venue. Motorists are also prohibited from parking along major routes, including Winnie Mandela Drive, Cedar Road, and the surrounding access roads near the Steyn City entrance.

Park & Ride Recommended

To manage traffic flow, organisers have strongly encouraged the use of park and ride facilities. Liv Golf has partnered with Gautrain and Park & Ride South Africa to offer convenient transport to the tournament.

• Montecasino
• Clearwater Mall
• Melrose Arch
• Mall of Africa
• Menlyn Park
• Sandton City
• Greenstone Mall

Travel Times

Shuttle buses will operate every hour from 08:00 to 17:00, and for one hour after the event concludes. A temporary on-site transport hub with clear signage will assist attendees with smooth movement to and from the venue.

Entertainment  

While the tournament showcases world-class golf, it also delivers a vibrant entertainment experience. Attendees can look forward to performances from globally recognised artists such as Calvin Harris, GoldFish, and South Africa’s own Black Coffee.
