The Mzansi Youth Choir has been doing the most - and we love that for them and our beautiful country.
Not only have they appeared on 'America's Got Talent', but they featured at the on-going 2026 FIFA World Cup, where Bafana Bafana made history - and us all proud.
Now, they are ready to show local audiences in Soweto why they are so highly regarded globally with a pair of shows in August.
On 7 and 8 August 2026 at the Soweto Theatre, the choir will be performing their Mzansi Unbound show - a fresh, vibrant concert that "celebrates the energy, versatility and boundary-crossing spirit of contemporary South African performance".
The pair of shows is set to merge the musical excellence, movement and storytelling the choir has become known for, boldly moving across genres and traditions.
Expect global influences from township rhythms, gospel and reggae to African classics, global anthems and contemporary favourites - Bohemian Rhapsody, Paradise and One Love will meet Angimbonanga and Ijele.
“Mzansi Unbound captures the range of who we are as a choir right now - musically ambitious, proudly South African and full of energy. It’s a programme that allows us to move across styles while staying rooted in the spirit of live performance,” Sidumo Nyamezele, the choir's Music Director, says.
