Parkhurst is set to come alive this spring as the Parkhurst Village Fair 2025 makes its long-awaited return to Verity Park, Johannesburg, on Saturday, 27 September. This beloved neighbourhood event is back, bigger and brighter, with a full day of family-friendly activities designed to celebrate connection, creativity, and local culture.
This year’s Fair is volunteer-driven, with local residents, businesses, and entertainers pulling together to create a true showcase of what makes Parkhurst special. The programme is packed with activities for all ages, starting with a morning community yoga class and continuing with live music, local entertainment, and a bustling street food scene complete with craft beer and bubbles.
Families can look forward to dedicated kids’ play areas, while shoppers can explore artisanal stalls and vendor markets. Quirky highlights include the ever-popular RUSK-OFF finals, judged by Yaya of Yaya’s Rusks, alongside an art auction, raffle prizes, and the Paw-parazzi Dog Show for Joburg’s four-legged friends.

Beyond the fun, the Parkhurst Village Fair is about giving back. Organised by the Parkhurst Residents and Business Owners Association (PRABOA), the event raises funds for year-round neighbourhood upliftment projects, from maintaining Verity Park to supporting wider community initiatives. A portion of the proceeds will also be donated to a local charity chosen by the Fair Committee.
Running from 10 am to 8 pm, the Fair promises a full day out in Johannesburg and is set to be one of the city’s must-visit events this spring.
