After the Hey Neighbour cancellation, Doja Cat is finally set to perform in South Africa.

The moment South African fans have been waiting for has finally arrived. After the heartbreak of last year’s Hey Neighbour Festival cancellation, Grammy-winning superstar Doja Cat is officially coming to South Africa (cue shrieks)
Big Concerts and Global Citizen announced yesterday that the "Paint The Town Red" hitmaker will headline Move Afrika: Pretoria on 20 March 2026 at the SunBet Arena, Time Square. For Joburgers, the short drive to our neighbouring city is well worth it if you consider that some fans are prepared to board a plane just to catch Doja in action.
For many local fans, this news serves as a massive sigh of relief. Doja Cat was originally slated to perform at the Hey Neighbour Festival in 2025, but the event was ultimately cancelled due to funding and logistical constraints, leaving ticketholders devastated.
Now, through Global Citizen’s Move Afrika initiative, which aims to build a sustainable touring circuit across the continent, the singer is finally making her way to her father’s home country (we see you, Zandile girl!)
“From my South African roots straight to the world stage, we're bringing energy, purpose, and real change to Move Afrika... this isn't just a tour, it's a movement,” Doja Cat stated in the official release.
With the high demand expected following last year's cancellation, fans are encouraged to set their alarms. Tickets will be released in three phases starting this Monday:
Mastercard Presale: Starts Monday, 16 February at 09:00 and runs until Wednesday morning. This is exclusive to all Mastercard holders via priceless.com/music.
Big Concerts Fan Club Presale: Starts Tuesday, 17 February at 09:00. Existing members should check their inboxes or the Big Concerts website for their unique access info.
General Public Sale: The main event! Tickets go on sale to everyone on Wednesday, 18 February at 09:00 via bigconcerts.co.za or Ticketmaster.
Premium Access: World & World Elite Mastercard holders get preferred access to some of the best seats in the house starting Wednesday morning at 09:00.
The Move Afrika tour is not just about the music; it is designed to fuel Africa’s creative economy, with over 90% of the production crew hired locally. Now that is something we can get into!!
