The mall has transformed its iconic Centre Court into a high-design confectionery wonderland: the Chocolate Café: Sweet Edition, just in time for the Easter holidays.
Open from now until Monday, April 6, this isn't your average mall activation. It is a refined, immersive pop-up designed to be as much a feast for your Instagram feed as it is for your sweet tooth.
A curated sugar crush
The centrepiece of the café is a forest of towering candy tubes, shimmering with every imaginable treat. The experience is tactile and personalised; visitors are encouraged to curate their own stash, picking and mixing from the vibrant displays to create a bespoke candy collection.
But it’s not just about the bag of sweets. The space is packed with interactive discovery moments, including:
- Find your fortune & spin the wheel: Light-hearted games for those feeling lucky.
- What candy are you?: A digital personality quiz for the truly obsessed.
- Build-A-Bear Station: A hands-on creative hub where younger guests (or the young at heart) can customise their own furry companions.
Grown-up indulgence
Sandton City hasn't forgotten the parents or the connoisseurs. If the sight of bulk candy feels a bit youthful, the café offers a more sophisticated side. You can pause for a barista-crafted brew at the Nespresso activation or sit down for a signature slice of decadence from Chateau Gateaux.
The world’s heavy hitters are also in attendance. Expect dedicated sections for Lindt (where you can personalise your own iconic gold bunny ribbon), Ferrero Rocher, and Kinder Joy, alongside homegrown heroes like Sally Williams and Beacon.
