Clear your calendars, Joburg; Saturday, 4 October 2025, is set to be one of the tastiest days of the year. Rosebank Mall’s Street Feast is back, and this time it’s dishing up all the flavours that make South Africa the foodie nation it is. From 10 am to 7 pm, Bath Avenue becomes a street food party where bunny chows meet banging beats, and shisanyama smoke fills the air. Best part? Entry is free. And if you’re one of the first 100 through the gates, you’ll be handed a rooibos-infused gin cocktail to kick things off.

The food

This is proper Mzansi street flavour. Amelia’s Kitchen is serving Durban’s legendary bunny chow bread bowls stuffed with curry, which is so good you’ll be licking your fingers. White Cocoa brings the fire with sizzling shisanyama straight off the coals, the kind that turns strangers into friends over shared plates. Cape Town’s Gatsby sandwiches land in Joburg thanks to Just Jo (these monsters are the size of your arm), alongside stacked burgers and sweet scoops of ice cream to cool it all down.

The beats

Because no South African feast is complete without a soundtrack, Street Feast is loading up the decks with Kyotic, Ryan The DJ, Lula Obida, Chelsea Sloan, Chowmein, Teddy Tumi, Kylo and Ty Dilla. Expect amapiano, house, kwaito, and everything in between. Basically, it's a Saturday groove to keep you dancing between bites.

The vibe

Rosebank Mall’s Marketing Manager, Angelisa Gengan, sums it up best: “We’re not just a shopping destination. We’re a place where people come together to celebrate, connect, and create memories.” And that’s exactly what Street Feast does: serving flavours, music and energy that feel like home.

Why go?

Where else will you get shisanyama, bunny chows, Gatsbys, ice cream, and DJs all in one day? Street Feast is Joburg at its best: food, music, and people coming together just because. Round up your crew, pull through hungry, and leave with a full belly and a happy heart.
