So, here you have it folks; your last chance to dance before the New Year. And maybe Boxing Day. And perhaps the 27th. Look, basically if you’re really up for dancing, where there’s a will, there’s a way. Nonetheless, here’s where to focus all of your energy in the meantime, with Wire and Mission providing the goods in terms of true, underground sound.

Schwein and Badornament - Friday, Wire Club, Call Lane, £6
Off the back of it’s memorable name, but predominantly it’s focus on true, experimental leaning underground house and techno, Schwein and Badornament has already established itself as a force to be reckoned with for the city’s more open minded clubbers. Headlining this month with a set of out-there house and techno is Ruthit, fresh from releases on acclaimed labels such as Strobewax, Murmur and Four:Twenty. Joining her are Leeds’ own Annie Errez and Bobby O’Donnel, residents at System, plus a host of other similarly minded locals.

Subterranea with Conforce - Saturday, Wire Club, Call Lane, £8
Back down the stairs and into the confines of Wire once more on Saturday, when Subterennea return with one of the most dynamic names in techno, Conforce. Leaning on the heavier side of things for his pummelling but somewhat dreamy sets, his countless EPs are now staples in clubs on an international scale. What’s more, he’s only played one other UK gig this year, at the acclaimed and somewhat secretive Freerotation festival, which should give dance fans a clue to his sort of pedigree. Joining him and keeping the party lively until 5AM are Subterrenea’s reliable trio of residents, Rory Flynn, Phil Warner and Dan Jackson.

Feed The Love - Saturday, Distrikt, Duncan Street, Free
In the words of it’s organisers, “Feed the Love is about love for dancing, quality electronic music and a great atmosphere”, which sounds like decent enough ingredients for a great party by our standards. And what’s more, as it’s Christmas, it’s free. Resident DJs Rick Hurst, Luke Wilson and Occupy Yourself are joined by special guest DJ Rauh, of Sau Paulo, Brazil, providing a seasonal buffet of funk, house and disco.
