Time Out says

It's Ronan Keating vs the Nazis in this bland drama set in occupied wartime Jersey

This sombre WWII drama is the true story of Louisa Gould (Jenny Seagrove), a middle-aged Jersey shopkeeper who hid a young Russian POW in her home during the island’s occupation by the Nazis. It’s a gentle but insufferably fusty film, blessed with pleasant rural views but a line-up of poor performances from the likes of Ronan Keating and John Hannah, who can do little with a script that fails to do anything but blandly retell the story of Gould’s kindness and faith in community. Seagrove is endearing enough – but dialogue that waffles on about Sherbet Dib Dabs and breaks into song does her no favours. This is antique-shop filmmaking: a new movie that feels like it’s been found among a pile of unwanted bric-à-brac.
