Artist Lecture: Susan Philipsz says
Susan Philipsz, one of the world’s most renowned sound artists, will lecture on her artwork "Sunset Song" in the Speed Art Museum’s collection as well as her recent projects.

Known for her innovations in sound art, Philipsz’s installations have appeared throughout the world in exhibitions such as documenta, Skulptur Projekte Muenster, the Biennale of Sydney, and the Carnegie International. In 2013 Philipsz was included in "Soundings: A Contemporary Score," the first-ever major exhibition of sound art at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

Currently Philipsz has solo exhibitions on view at the Tate Britain in London, the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington D.C. and the Kunsthaus Bregenz in Austria.

In 2010 Susan Philipsz was awarded the Turner Prize, the most prestigious award available in the United Kingdom to an artist under fifty.

This artist lecture is free with price of admission. No reservation necessary. Artist lecture will be held in the Grand Hall.
