Jefferson County Chapter of Kentuckians For The Commonwealth says
In April KFTC launched Walk Your Block, a walkability study in the Smoketown community. The study is focused on assessing the infrastructure, sidewalks conditions, and vacant and abandoned properties in the neighborhood. KFTC hopes to use the results of this study to work with neighbors, community partners, and city officials to improve accessibility, safety, and housing conditions in Smoketown.

KFTC needs volunteers to help complete this walkability study. During Bike Your Block volunteers will evaluate street lighting conditions on bikes after sunset. June 21 is the Summer Solstice and sunset is at 9:10pm. Training, support, and materials will be provided. You just need a bike and a helmet!

Questions contact our organizer Alicia Hurle at 502-589-3188 or alicia@kftc.org. Walk/Bike Your Block is a continuation of the Jefferson County Chapter's Vision Smoketown work, which started in 2013 (visit kftc.org/visionsmoketown for more info)
