Students can expect to delve into the chen hong form straight away, to learn traditional Chinese names of postures and movements, helpful information for health and longevity to be derived from their practice, and, as always...a little poetry and philosophy!

The traditional approach to taiji study is for all levels to practice and learn together. Periodically, advanced students will be visiting the class for demonstrations of other taiji forms, posture application, and to and share their knowledge and experiences with the group.

Each year, master Ding takes students to visit china and to explore, or even participate in international competitions. Study with him offers cultural enrichment in the form of language, calligraphy, and occasionally traditional cooking lore and lessons!

Born into a family lineage of chaquan artists, Mingye Ding has studied fine martial arts since the age of 5, and was sent to study with many masters of forms chen, yang, sun, wu, bagua, xingyi, jian (sword, single, double, broad), tui shou (push hands), quinna, and is masterful in the arts of acupressure, tui na, and chinese herbal applications in healing through the meridian system of chinese medicine.

He has been teaching since his childhood, establishing his own school in Shandong Province, China, and as a professor at Liaocheng University, China. He moved to Louisville, Ky five years ago to learn about the United States, and to teach.
