A Coal Miner's Daughter meets Winter’s Bone tale of tender love and loss that examines the power of land, crushing poverty, oppression of Appalachian women then, and that which is relevant now.

Kim Michele Richardson resides in the rolling hills of Kentucky where she is a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and an advocate for the prevention of child abuse and domestic violence. She is the author of the bestselling memoir The Unbreakable Child and the novel Liar's Bench. She is a contributor to the Huffington Post. Kim Michele's second novel, GodPretty in the Tobacco Field will be out in stores Spring 2016. She is currently at work on her third novel, The Washed Light Off Ebenezer Road and will have anthology coming out in March, 2017, Second Blooming, Mercer University Press.
