The Mary Byron Project (MBP), a 501 (c)(3) public non-profit charity, was established in 2000 in memory of a young woman whose tragic murder led to the creation of a groundbreaking system of automated victim notification technology.

On the evening of December 6, 1993, Mary Byron was murdered on her 21st birthday at her workplace by her ex-boyfriend. The Mary Byron Project is committed to honoring her memory by educating businesses and our communities about the cost we all bear for workplace violence-- violence that many times could be prevented.

Each year, we provide monetary awards throughout the country to organizations searching for answers and successfully finding them. In addition, we serve as a state and national thought leader on domestic violence, with a database of programs throughout the country that are attacking this crime in groundbreaking ways.

We serve a constituency comprised of crime victims, their family members, spouses and children, law enforcers, district attorneys and business owners protecting employees against violence in the workplace and citizens at large.
