Kelly on her work: "These bird people and landscapes were born out of my imagination's desire to help facilitate a more peaceful existence on this planet. I have kept an easel in the corner of my home for 20 years and carving out the time and space to paint in a necessary part of my well-being. I am fascinated with how we relate to each other and to the world around us, especially energetically."
Kelly McCarthy is a self-taught artist and mother of 4 who has been creating and showing artwork since 1997. She moved to Louisville from Oregon in 2001, became a massage therapist, opened (and closed) a community center in Schnitzelburg, and is currently co-owner of Evolving, a gallery live/work space on Mellwood Avenue.
