The Ghostlight Project says
On January 19, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. in each time zone across the country, members of the theater community from Broadway to regional theaters to high schools and colleges and community theaters will come together to launch The Ghostlight Project.

Inspired by the tradition of leaving a "ghost light" on in a darkened theater, artists and communities will make or renew a pledge to stand for and protect the values of inclusion, participation, and compassion for everyone regardless of race, class, religion, country of origin, immigration status, (dis)ability, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

This project aligns with Actors Theatre’s core values of equity, diversity, and inclusion, and emphasizes that we are an essential ally for the Louisville community. The Ghostlight Project aims to create brave spaces that will serve as lights in the coming years. They aim to activate a network of people across the country working to support vulnerable communities.

We will be participating in this project by gathering on the sidewalk outside of our bank building on Thursday, January 19, beginning at 5:30 p.m. for a few brief remarks and a "moment of light" with phone or handheld flashlights. We encourage you to share this opportunity to participate with fellow artists and allies in our community.

Please join us for this brief celebration of unity next Thursday.
