The World That Africa Made says
The World That Africa Made is a professional development session for teachers who want to learn the basics of African and African American history. This PD came to be when we had teachers ask us how they were supposed to teach something they weren't necessarily familiar in, and the answer is you can't really. So here's where this PD comes in.

This morning session will start off by briefly discussing African kingdoms, move into the Triangular Trade and then the impacts of inventions and pioneering of African Americans on the United States. It will then wrap up by connecting contemporary movements to the history learned throughout the seminar.

This class is best for teachers not that familar with history as it is an introductory course. We will provide you with a moderately in-depth gist of early African American history, but more importantly point you in the right direction to learning more.

JCPS teachers will be able to recieve PD credit for going. Other school districts are to be determined and will be announced when confirmed.

If you are not registering through JCPS please RSVP by emailing us at

Hope to see everyone there!
