Bring a yoga mat.

You will learn a powerful, life-changing practice you can do at home. I recommend 3-4 facilitated sessions to learn the exercises and see how you do with them and then you can do the practice on your own (or continue to join the group when you want.)

TRE (Tension-Trauma Release Exercises) is an innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. Created by Dr. David Berceli, PhD, this practice safely activates a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming the nervous system.

When this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return to a state of balance.

Humans and animals have the same reactions to a traumatic event: fight, flight or freeze. After the traumatic event, animals will shake vigorously to release the tension, stress and trauma from their bodies.

Unfortunately, we humans have forgotten this innate ability and so most of our lifetime traumatic memories and tensions are continuously stored in our nervous systems and in our bodies down to the cellular level. This can cause all types of issues - poor health, interrupted sleep, low energy, anxiety, depression, high stress levels, aches and pains, chronic illness, poor mood and many other things.

We experience all sorts of small and large tensions and traumas in our lives and our body holds onto these "stories". Given the chance, the body wants to release them naturally and become more free, relaxed, resilient, healthy and happy.

These exercises have been invaluable for our personal practices. WE HIGHLY recommend them to you.
