Seed Capital Kentucky says
On Saturday May 9th, the West Louisville FoodPort Community Council welcomes you to learn more about the FoodPort project, and food-based economic development that will benefit our city and region. Please join us; all are welcome!

In honor of this being Mother’s Day weekend – who moreso do we associate with food and being fed? – you’re encouraged to bring your Mom! We’ll have a special Mother’s Day gift on hand to honor all mothers in attendance.

During this lunchtime event, we’ll share a brief presentation recently given by Seed Capital KY Co-Founder Stephen Reily at TEDxManhattan on the need for economic and community development tools to meet the demand for local foods and better build the local food economy; Mayor Fischer will speak to the potential impact of the FoodPort and the city’s support for such comprehensive projects; and we’ll take a closer look at the FoodPort project through a brief overview followed by an open Q&A with organizations committed to locating at the site: KHI Foods, Star Distributed Energy, The Weekly Juicery, Piazza Produce, and Jefferson Country Cooperative Extension. Come learn more about these organizations, their plans for growth and jobs creation, and our quest to locate other local food businesses who can locate at the new site.
