Peru was the guest country at the last ARCO international contemporary art fair, and the exhibitions are still on display in other museums and galleries, like CentroCentro Cibeles, where you can see 'El calor derrite los estilos' ('Heat melts styles'), an intriguing work by two artists based Lima, Gilda Mantilla (Los Angeles, 1967) and Raimond Chaves (Bogotá, 1963). Both question the ways that places like the Amazon are constructed and interpreted, and as the artists put it, 'practising a sort of anti-landscape theory, purposely losing [themselves] in the leafiness of paper, stains and signs'.
