Through drawings, sketches, notes and objects, this exhibition looks at the influence of construction toys in the history of modern architecture. The exhibition shows off the fascinating history dating back from blocks used in the 18th century to teach maths, geometry and drawing, up to those that became toys, games that drew kids to them from the beginning, which they instinctively used to imitate the creation of buildings with everyday materials. In a pre-capitalist era, some seasoned manufacturers already saw the commercial potential of these new toys and started producing various types out of wood and cardboard first, and then later in stone, metal and plastic. Then they started filling up schools.
