Smack in C/Alcalá stands this temple of the Spanish language, a public institution created in 1991 to promote and teach Spanish and the different co-offical languages of Spain and to disseminate Spanish and Hispanic American cultures. You'll find the institute in 90 cities in 43 countries around the globe. This site in Madrid is its central headquarters, where they also organise plenty of cultural activities like art exhibitions, chats, debates, workshops, and more.
