Time Out says

To lovers of electronic music, or anyone who's listened closely to the latest Daft Punk album (specifically the third cut), it won't be necessary to explain who Giorgio Moroder is. For everybody else, we just need to say that he is top dog when it comes to dance music, not the father anymore, but rather the grandfather of techno, a producer and composer who is still going strong aged 77. He's won three Oscars, three Golden Globes and three Grammys, and is an undoubted influencer. Wearing his producer's hat, he put Donna Summer on the map, and it's a role he played for the likes of Nina Hagen and David Bowie as well. Moroder has composed countless Hollywood themes (many people would be surprised to know that certain tunes carry his name), as well as the official music for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and the Football World Cup in 1990. And in between all that, he's released 16 of his own albums, the latest of which was 'Déjà Vu' in 2015.
