Madrid es Negro 2017: Mighty Vamp + The Wichita Flames

This night, brought to you by Sweet Records, features two of the label's biggest groups. Mighty Vamp present their new single on vinyl. The group have quickly carved out their own space on the jazz-funk scene thanks to their intense live shows and their fresh way of assimilating influences from classics such as Boogaloo Joe Jones, Jimmy Smith and Jimmy McGriff. The Wichita Flames also take the stage, performing some of their new songs from their upcoming album. The band is led by David Elejalde and boasts a repertoire that runs from the southern soul of New Orleans to calypso to doo-wop, as well as the most danceable funk.
