El Paraguas Restaurant, in 2004, Sandro Silva and Marta Seco chose the Salamanca neighbourhood to let their gastronomic imagination run free within the cosy space of restaurant El Paraguas, which is now one of the great names when it comes to prestigious Asturian creative cuisine. In this restaurant, the tasty and succulent Asturian cuisine is transformed into exquisite and delicate dishes which satisfies the palate and sates the stomach: vegetables with clams, artichokes sautéed in basil oil, oxtail meatballs, beans with crab, spinach-stuffed prawns or “pixín” –the Asturian word for monkfish- are just a few of the delicious treats that can be sampled at El Paraguas. If you still have room for dessert, taste delicacies such as their thin apple tart with white chocolate ice-cream or the frixuelos with cheese mousse. Its wine cellar hosts over 100 wine references, from all origins and with prices which can reach four figures. Thus, along with the great Rioja and Ribera del Duero wine reserves, customers will find other denominations such as Toro, Penedés, Jumilla, Madrid or Navarra, as well as a wide selection of cavas and champagnes.
