A wide variety of new restaurants have arrived in Manchester in recent months and a further two much-anticipated newbies, as well as the second venture for a Manchester favourite, will be opening their doors next week.

Catalonian deli, restaurant and bar Lunya is to open on October 27 from 9am. Located in the grandeur of Deangate’s Barton Arcade, the Manchester outlet of the popular Liverpool restaurant will have a deli and bar on the ground floor and the restaurant and kitchen on the first. There will also be the opportunity to sit outside – but under cover – in the main arcade. Spanish gins, beers, wines and spirits will be stocked at the bar and the menu will feature their takes on traditional Catalan dishes alongside more modern cooking from the region.

October 30 will see the launch of Quill on King Street. Part of the On The Wall Group, which also owns Chalk Bar and Grill in Didsbury, the operators have spent more than £1m on the site which will be split over two floors of its four-storey building.

Described as a ‘luxurious and contemporary bar and eatery’,  there will be a ground floor bar and a first floor restaurant seating up to 60 diners – including a private dining area. The owners say there will be a modern British menu from head chef Curtis Stewart, who is originally from Bury and was previously working in luxury hotels in the Cotswolds.

Finally, Home Sweet Home will be launching their second site at the Great Northern Warehouse on October 30 at 5pm - and they'll be giving away free food to signal their arrival. Expect more of the calorific creations, crazy cakes and super shakes that they've become known for at their NQ site

Other new restaurants set to open in the coming months include Vapiano and Salvi’s in the Corn Exchange, and Solita’s fourth restaurant which will also be inside Barton Arcade.
