Framed with a networking/conversational approach, yet rooted in a Seder, the program will bring the Memphis YP community (both Jewish and non- Jewish) together to advance ideals of social and racial justice. Common Road will open a dialogue on liberty, social justice, and civil rights through the themes and rituals of the traditional Passover Seder.

This event was made possible through the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation's #MakeItHappen initiative.

About Common Road:
Common Road will open a dialogue on liberty, social justice, and civil rights through the themes and rituals of the traditional Passover Seder. Held at the National Civil Rights Museum, the only civil & human rights museum of its kind, the event will be a collaboration between ConnecTI (an innovative Jewish young professional group under Temple Israel), the Memphis Urban League Young Professionals, and the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Foundation. The Seder program itself—entitled “Common Road”—will be guided by Temple Israel’s Senior Rabbi Micah Greenstein, the NAACP’s newest national board member and only serving rabbi, alongside Dr. Luther Ivory –a nationally renowned professor of Liberation Theology and the Modern Civil Rights Movement- with input from leaders of the Memphis Young Professional Community.
