National Civil Rights Museum says
The National Civil Rights Museum has dedicated 2015 to voting rights with activities in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Signed into law on August 6, 1965, the struggle for the ballot was hard fought in the face of Jim Crow laws, intimidation and violence. Throughout history, many have sacrificed their lives to ensure voting rights are protected.

The Museum has launched Join the Movement: Register and Vote! with voter registration drives from June through August to encourage visitors to get out the vote for upcoming local, state and national elections. Low voter turnout is pandemic in this country, yet it is one of the most powerful rights Americans have.

In 2015, make sure you are registered to vote, exercise your right and encourage others to do the same. Let your voice be heard by voting!
