Mid-South Peace and Justice Center says
The Fair Housing Act is turning 48 on April 11th! To celebrate, MSPJC is kicking off a series of events to renew our commitment to Housing Justice!

We need your support to continue helping tenants organize for housing justice. An anonymous donor has offered to match funds raised by MSPJC up to $10k from now to #March15th. This new source of funding will enable our solidarity work with tenants to continue and grow…but none of that is possible without you. No amount is too small! midsouthpeace.org/donate

That said, bring your dancing shoes, your go-to karaoke tunes, and maybe even a little something for open mic! We're having a dance party extravaganza to raise money for #HousingJustice in Memphis!

$5 cover
$3 Wiseacre beer
$1 Jell-O shots

Bring cash or cards; we'll have a computer set up for online donations.

For the last year, the Mid-South Peace and Justice Center has worked to help tenants suffering in deplorable living conditions raise their voices against unethical slumlords. This is not work we are funded to do but we responded to the need of our neighbors. Help us continue to help tenants organize and prevent a city-wide housing crisis by donating here: https://midsouthpeace.org/get-involved/donate-now

In March of 1968, the Senate and the House of Representatives passed the Civil Rights Act of 1968, later known as the Fair Housing Act. This landmark piece of legislation provided for equal housing opportunities and banned discrimination based on race, creed, or nation of origin. It also banned "Coercing, threatening, intimidating, or interfering with a person's enjoyment or exercise of housing rights based on discriminatory reasons or retaliating against a person or organization that aids or encourages the exercise or enjoyment of [fair housing] rights."

The MSPJC works to ensure tenants know and exercise their rights, as well as remain safe from slumlord retaliation. Join us! Your neighbors need your help!
