Occupy City Hall: For A Vote On Clerb

Memphis United says
On August 4th, Councilman Berlin Boyd (901.636-6775
Berlin.Boyd@memphistn.gov) called for yet ANOTHER DELAY on the vote for a stronger Civilian Law Enforcement Review Board, not for another two weeks, but until Nov 10th, AFTER THE ELECTIONS!!
WHY? Ask him yourself....
This vote to delay passed, but could be overturned by anyone from the prevailing side, including Boyd himself.

On tuesday, August 18th, City Council will convene for their last meeting of the month. At the end of each council meeting, there is a #PublicComment section, where anyone can draw a comment card and speak for two minutes on any issue.

If you dont like the Council wasting the public's time with politically motivated delays on an issue that has been dragged out for months, its time to SHOW THEM HOW IT FEELS!

Join us at 4PM, draw a card, and let them know that this blatant political cowardice is unacceptable, that attempts to divert attention away from the importance of police oversight and accountability with attacks on individuals will not be tolerated, and that the TIME IS NOW for a vote on CLERB!
