Kosher meets Country, Blues and Rock 'n' Roll in Memphis singer-songwriter Shelley Nemetz Fisher’s brings her critically acclaimed solo musical-play THE HEBREW HILLBILLY: Fifty Shades of Oy Vey! to the Center for Southern Folklore’s stage, Sunday evening December 6 at the Center for Southern Folklore’s Heritage Hall, 119 S. Main St., Memphis, TN38103.

The show is a fundraiser benefiting for the Center for Southern Folklore. It begins at 7:00. Following the show the audience will celebrate the first night of Chanukah and enjoy latkes and Shelley’s Rockin' in Memphis CD Launch Party. Tickets $36 and $40 Front Row. A hip rite of passage that chronicles Fisher's Hollywood Odyssey that begins in the heart of the Mississippi Delta, the play follows her life growing up as a Jewish child from Memphis, Tennessee with big star struck fantasies. Her quest for fame and fortune takes her to Los Angeles where she ultimately finds purpose beyond The Hollywood Sign. Pulsating with 15 original Memphis inspired songs written by Shelley and hit songwriters Ken Hirsch and Harold Payne, the hilarious and poignant THE HEBREW HILLBILLY gives us a look into the unique world of Kosher Barbecues, , ELVIS and the Power of Dreams!

This exciting 90 minute dramatic presentation has played to packed houses Coast to Coast from Santa Monica, CA. all the way down South to Memphis, Tennessee, criss-crossing the country from Hollywood to Palm Springs, Kansas City, Florida and New York! Shelly will come to Memphis following a month-long tour of performances in Florida.
